Practical experience for online students
As part of your online associate's degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management you will be required to analyze and observe a functioning facility. Additionally, you'll be required to build 500 hours of experience before you graduate. Check the want ads for jobs such as waiter/waitress, cook, or front desk clerk to get you in the door. If you're not ready to begin working, you can call hotels and restaurants and explain you are an online student looking for hands-on experience in the industry. They may be able to offer you an internship or allow you to come observe for a period of time.
