A bachelor of science, or B.S., is typically a four-year program. Its main focus is on mathematics, physiology, and life sciences. However, as with all undergraduate degrees, its goal is to produce a well-rounded student. That means that a student in a B.S. program must also take the requisite language, humanities, and writing courses, all courses for online bachelor degrees. The required amount of hours of a bachelor of science varies depending on the major, but is always over a total of 100. Many B.S. degrees are now available online in such majors as physics, math, biology, and chemistry.
