Get to Work with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science!

Earning a bachelor degree in computer science is a major accomplishment that requires dedication and hard work, but new graduates are often confronted with difficulty landing their first job. With a little advance planning that should never be a problem. As soon as possible during your program of study, you should start an electronic portfolio to showcase your growth, experience and project based work. Initially it may seem that much of what you produce is not of the quality or type that will impress anyone. Keep it just the same. It’s surprising how bits and pieces of work can be re-used in the future to create something that is impressive! As your skill increases use your homework assignments to create meaningful projects whenever possible. If you can donate work to a volunteer agency then do so. It’s a great way to build a solid reputation complete with references and actual examples while in school. This provides a highly competitive edge when it comes time to apply for internships or employment.
